  • What are the documents required while attending the counselling /admission?

  • Passing certificate of class X.
  • Mark sheet of class XII (For Undergraduate Programmes).
  • JEE Rank Card.
  • Character certificate from the institution last attended.
  • Migration certificate from the institution last attended.
  • Medical fitness certificate from an MBBS registered medical practitioner.
  • SC/ST/OBC/kashmiri migrant certificate (if applicable).
  • Gap year affidavit duly attested by a notary in case a student has gap year/years after having passed class XII examination (only for admission to B.Tech).
  • Mark sheets of graduation degree examination (only for admission to M.Tech).
  • Mark sheet of the diploma or any other relevant lower examination passed (only for admission to b. tech – lateral entry).
  • When can we start staying in our hostel room?

  • You shall be allotted a hostel room as soon as you arrive on the reporting days both for the orientation and pre-orientation.
  • Is there any guest house for parents to stay?

  • Parents will be provided accommodation for pre orientation phase. However, afterwards no accommodation will be provided to parents. It is requested that you make reservations outside the campus.
  • What will be there in my hostel room? What should I bring?

  • You'll have a cupboard, a table, a bed and electrical fittings like a fan and light. You need to bring bedding yourself.
  • What's the campus like?

  • The campus is plush green, calm and serene and is well maintained throughout the year.
  • Are there any sports opportunities available?

  • Yes, there are sports facilities available with dedicated coaches for cricket, basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, table-tennis etc. An INTER-IITM Group of Institution Sports Meet is held annually and students are rigorously trained for participation in this. Hostel Day Games are also conducted. In the Spring Semester, a General Championship (GC) is also held where all types of outdoor and indoor sports are played by the students.
  • Is there is any constraint on time spent outside hostel?

  • Yes, there are certain rules of the hostel. The rules have been framed keeping in view the safety of students. Prior permission has to be taken from the warden or hostel authorities for availing private transport or for leave more than a day. Students are supposed to return before the scheduled time.
  • Will I have Net (INTERNET) connectivity in my room?

  • All the hostels are Wi-Fi connected, that is, wireless internet permeates your space (putting it dramatically). Apart from that you have the Institute Computer Centre. You'll also be connected by Wireless LANs, to other computers in your hostel, through WiFi.
  • How is the food quality in mess? What is the food menu?

  • The food provided in the mess is of standard quality. A Mess Committee comprising of students themselves exists, which takes care of the quality of the food provided. The menu is decided after taking into consideration the suggestions of students which is a mix of North Indian and South Indian food.
  • Is there any alternative option for eating apart from the mess?

  • Although the mess food is hygienic and has a variety in taste, there are canteens in the academic area as well as the residential area of the IITM campus where students can have their food. There is a fruit shop, a bakery and an ice-cream parlour too. All these places are affordable and maintain the ideal standards of hygiene.
  • How are the medical facilities in college and hostel?

  • There is a well-equipped Medical room on campus, with a 24 hours availability of Ambulance service from the hostels to the dispensary in case of any emergency. Doctors and staff nurses are on duty round-the-clock.
  • What is the standard of laboratories in which the students work?

  • The laboratories are highly sophisticated and well-equipped. The apparatus used are accurate, of high standard and are mainly shipped from overseas. Besides these, there is 24 by 7 accessibility to all labs where students can work on their own innovative projects.
  • Are there any clubs or societies for recreation?

  • The societies in IITM Group of Institution encompass various fields in both the socio-cultural and technical domains. Students can be a part of socio-cultural societies including the dramatics society, dance society, literary society, music society, cinematic society, fine arts society, social welfare society, as well as technical ones like the robotics society, programming society, entrepreneurship cell, quizzing society, photography society, and web & design society.
  • How are the faculty and teaching standards in IITM Group of Institutions?

  • The teaching standards do justice to the stellar reputation of the IITM Group of Institution. The institute has a versatile group of faculty members including visiting faculty from reputed universities. Majority of the professors have done their PhDs. The focus of the faculty is on quality teaching, research and technology development. They are also actively involved in publishing papers, attending international conferences/workshops/ symposium and chairing session of the conferences.
  • How is the library? What are the facilities? What is the availability of books?

  • There is a library in the IITM campus. The library is well-equipped with all prescribed books for various courses and is also subscribed to several helpful e-resources including e-libraries, journals and research collections. Thus, students have access to a large collection of printed and electronic resources. The Students are provided all required books in the firm of book banks for whole semester. Apart from that all students borrow 2 books at a time for the duration of 14 days.
  • Is there is any Ragging in the campus?

  • Ragging of any form is strictly banned in the campus and hostel. Anyone indulging in the act of ragging is liable to severe punishment. First year students having any complaint with any troublesome senior can immediately report to their student guides, Assistant Coordinators, Coordinators, teachers or warden. Strict action will be immediately taken. An anti-ragging committee has been constituted by the Director. Surprise visits by faculty members to the hostels and interactions with the students serve as an effective means to implement the anti-ragging policy.
  • Are there any banks or ATMs near the college or hostel?

  • Yes. There is a Bank of India ATM and a State Bank of India ATM outside the IITM Group of Institution Campus. There is also a Bank of India branch inside our campus.
  • How / when / where will I receive my student ID card/library membership cards?

  • All these will be issued to the students in the academic section within the first month of the semester.
  • Can the students keep electric appliances like heaters, iron, kettles, cookers, etc with them in hostel?

  • No. The students are not allowed to keep or use any such electric appliances in the hostel, so they might not bother bringing them.
  • Will parents require to stay for 2-3 days and accompany their children till the classes start?

  • Parents are advised not to stay for 2-3 days as the STUDENTS GUIDES are always there to take care of the students and to make sure they do not face any trouble in adjusting to the new environment.
  • How is the internet facility in the campus?

  • Wi-Fi is provided in the academic area and high-speed data is provided through Ethernet all over the campus.
  • How far is the market area from the academic area?

  • It is approximately 2 Kms.
  • What are the college timings?

  • The classes are scheduled from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. for all the courses. With an half hour lunch break.
  • What transportation facilities are available in the campus?

  • For the daily comers bus option is available. The buses ply to and from new delhi , Narella and Sonepat. Bus route and pickup point can be enquired from the transport officer. Also, special transport facilities are provided to the students on payment basis. Journey to and from the college is comfortable because buses are equipped with fans, comfortable seats and curtains etc.
  • We have been asked to get lots of medical tests done. Why? Are they really required?

  • Yes. Medical tests are quite essential for the doctor’s accessibility to the medical history in case of emergency.
